چکیده

This study presents the immunomodulatory potential of Abrus precatorius Linn. (Indian wild licorice) leaves. A hydroalcoholic extract A. leaves (EAPL) was prepared by maceration. Thirty male mice were divided into five groups as follows: control group, model group (cyclophosphamide-treated), and three treatment (treated with EAPL at doses 100, 200 300 mg/kg, per os, daily for 14 days). Parameters, including hematological, biochemical, organ indices, hemagglutination test (HA titer), delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH), interleukin-2 (IL-2) level, splenocyte proliferation liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-QTOF-MS) analysis evaluated. Histopathological examination carried out spleen, kidney liver. Cyclophosphamide (CPMD)-induced changes in white blood cells, lymphocytes platelets improved groups. Total protein albumin levels significantly higher. stimulated splenic T-lymphocytemediated proliferation. Neutrophil adhesion insignificantly decreased compared to normal which slightly treatment. HA titer cell-mediated immunity, is an indication antibody production. The IL-2 level higher that received mg/kg EAPL. LC-QTOF-MS showed presence flavonoids, lignans, iridoids phenolic glycosides. These results suggest are a good candidate new herbal formulation.
